On December 6, Xinjiang’s seed cotton procurement basically ended, and the focus of cotton companies has shifted to seed cotton processing and lint storage. Up to now, the processing volume of lint cotton in Xinjiang has reached about 70%.
The purchase price of seed cotton is relatively high this year, and the income of cotton farmers has increased significantly. A cotton farmer in Jinghe area of Xinjiang said that due to the climate at the beginning of the year, the growth of new cotton was not as good as in previous years. However, fortunately, cotton farmers managed it in a timely manner in the later period, and the final output was basically the same as last year. Local cotton farmers basically sell all their seed cotton after picking in October. It is understood that the farmer’s agricultural products were basically booked in November last year. However, due to the high prices of agricultural products this year, the cotton farmer has not purchased yet and is expected to make timely purchases based on market conditions.
