From April 24th to 28th, a group of five people including Wang Yanhong, director of the Sichuan Sericulture Management Station, Zhu Hongshun, a first-level researcher, went to Liangshan Prefecture to investigate the development of the sericulture industry. The research team went to the six counties (cities) of Xichang, Dechang, Huidong, Ningnan, Puge, and Mianning, as well as the silkworm breeding farms of Liangshan Prefecture and Xichang City. They visited silkworm houses, visited bases, visited factories, and talked with silkworm farmers, enterprises, Extension departments communicate and conduct research on compound intercropping of grain and mulberry, construction of modern sericulture agricultural parks, protection of sericulture germplasm resources, selection and breeding of silkworm seeds, mulberry production and marketing, development of mulberry branch edible fungi, processing of high-quality cocoons and silk, cultivation of new business entities, etc.
On April 27, the Liangshan Sericulture Development Symposium was held in Ningnan County. The six counties (cities) of Ningnan, Huidong, Dechang, Xichang, Mianning, and Puge ) management departments, cocoon silk enterprises and state and city silkworm breeding farms, including the main leaders attended the meeting. Huidong, Ningnan, Xichang, Dechang, and the state silkworm breeding farms made exchange speeches respectively. The deputy director of the state sericulture development center Xiang Ronghui reported on the development of the sericulture industry across the state, and members of the research team provided suggestions.
