On June 12, the “Wa Brocade Craftsmanship Inheritance Practice Base” was officially settled in the Vocational Education Center of Pu’er City, Yunnan Province. Li Xianlan, the inheritor of the Wa brocade technique of the national intangible cultural heritage project, brought the traditional Wa brocade technique to the Pu’er Vocational Education Center and made Wa brocade cultural and creative products on site, guiding students to feel the charm of the intangible cultural heritage in an intimate dialogue with the intangible cultural heritage.
At the event, Li Xianlan explained the historical development, skill inheritance, fabric aesthetics and other contents of Wa brocade. In the next step, Li Xianlan will open a Wa brocade handicraft production training class at Pu’er Vocational Education Center to provide training for students on a regular and continuous basis.
It is reported that in recent years, Pu’er City has adopted a cooperation model of “intangible cultural heritage into vocational schools”, combining the dissemination of intangible cultural heritage with talent cultivation, integrating the learning of intangible cultural heritage into students’ lives, and inheriting the spirit of craftsmanship , to build a solid foundation of intangible cultural heritage. At the same time, with the help of the inheritors of intangible cultural heritage, intangible cultural heritage skills can be heard, learned, and taken away, and then become new skills for students to achieve flexible employment.
