Guizhou has a mild climate and good ecology, and has the conditions to produce high-quality silkworm cocoons. In 2006, the country began to implement the “Eastern Mulberry Moving West” strategy, which brought a once-in-a-lifetime development opportunity to the development of Guizhou’s sericulture industry. Since the “13th Five-Year Plan”, Guizhou’s sericulture industry has developed rapidly and made important contributions to rural poverty alleviation in some counties. The rapid development of Guizhou’s sericulture industry cannot be separated from the effective support of science and technology.
In terms of labor-saving silkworm rearing, mulberry feeding and disinfection, the application demonstration of orbital mechanical mulberry feeding and disinfectant powder spraying technology in greenhouse sericulture has been carried out, which has greatly reduced the labor intensity of mulberry feeding and is comparable to traditional technology. Compared with this, the efficiency of mulberry production has increased by more than 3 times. By mechanically spreading disinfectant powder, it is not only spread thoughtfully, evenly and quickly, but also avoids direct stimulation of the human body by the powder.
In terms of labor-saving bundling of mature silkworms, we will carry out application demonstrations of automatic bundling technology. The speed of cocooning of mature silkworms is fast. Compared with manual cocooning, the work efficiency is increased by more than 10 times. The cocoons are evenly formed and the quality of the cocoons is high.
In terms of labor-saving harvesting of silkworm cocoons, the application demonstration of mechanical cocoon harvesting technology will be carried out. The cocoon picking machinery is matched with the cocooning equipment and adopts wood chip square cocoons. The machine is not easy to deform when picking cocoons and will not compress the cocoons. Compared with manual cocoon harvesting, the efficiency of mechanical cocoon harvesting is increased by more than 12 times.
