On August 18, 2022, Lezhi County in Sichuan Province was awarded the title of “China Sangdu” by the China Silk Association. It is the first and only county-level city in the country to receive this honor.
It is understood that in 2019, Lezhi County proposed the goal of creating “China Sangdu”. After more than three years of development, “China Sangdu” has moved from blueprint to reality and has become a “modern sericulture demonstration” , and continue to explore the “future direction of sericulture”, and all data indicators have reached the naming standards.
Modernize base construction. A new modern sericulture all-factor integrated park covering an area of 20,000 acres has been built. The park has basically achieved supporting facilities, technology integration and mechanism innovation. It is an important platform for corporate officials to develop businesses, revitalize local industries and increase people’s income and become a model for the modernization of agricultural parks.
Technicalization of mulberry planting and sericulture. Through school-site, school-enterprise and other cooperation methods, we have cooperated with 6 scientific research institutions such as Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Southwest University, and established 3 academician (expert) workstations to promote intelligent sericulture, zombie silkworm standards, and mulberry branch biology. The transformation and application of a large number of scientific and technological achievements such as alkali and alkali have become a model for the transformation and application of modern sericulture technology.
Comprehensive development is diversified. We strive to build high-end silk, mulberry resource health and mulberry resource new food industrial park, develop more than 40 kinds of silkworm-related and mulberry-related products, and have formed a tradition of integrating mulberry planting, sericulture, silk reeling, food, daily necessities, health products, biopharmaceuticals, etc. A complete industrial chain that integrates breeding and comprehensive resource development, its comprehensive development capabilities rank at the forefront of Sichuan Province, and has become a model for the diversified development of modern sericulture.
Characteristic industrial development. Lezhi Bombyx Silkworm has high starting standards and great development potential. It has now built a 10,000-acre Bombyx Silkworm production demonstration base that integrates Bombyx Silkworm production, processing, product standard formulation, and technical services. It has an annual output of 200 tons of Bombyx Silkworms, ranking first in Sichuan. Ranked first in the province, it is making every effort to build the “Hometown of Bombyx Silkworms in China” and become a model for the characteristic development of modern sericulture.
Sandu builds branding. “Lezhi Silkworm Cocoon” and “Lezhi Raw Silk” were awarded National Geographical Indication Products, and Lezhi was rated as the “Hometown of Chinese Pastoral Poetry”. In September 2021, CCTV’s “Going into the Rural Areas to See a Well-off Society” column, walked into Lezhi’s live broadcast of the sericulture industry to help rural revitalization. “People’s Daily”, “Sichuan Daily” and other media have repeatedly published the development achievements of “China Sangdu”. Lezhi sericulture development represented Ziyang City as a gift to the 12th Party Congress of Sichuan Province. About 100,000 people watched the “Witness” live broadcast in Sichuan View. Sangdu’s “happy to break out of the cocoon and transform into a butterfly” has become a model of modern sericulture brand construction.
