The arrival of new cotton has caused the price of cotton yarn in Delhi and Ludhiana to drop by 5-10 rupees per kilogram. Traders said buyers in the textile industry have reduced their purchases as they wait for prices to stabilize.

The price of cotton yarn has dropped by 5-10 rupees per kilogram in Ludhiana market. After cotton prices fell, buyers further reduced their purchases. A local trader said, “The textile industry is cautious about new purchases, and the downstream industry only purchases to meet immediate needs.”

According to Fibre2Fashion’s market insight tool TexPro, in Ludhiana, 30 Combed cotton yarn is sold at Rs 385-390 per kg. 20-count and 25-count combed yarn are trading at Rs 375-380 per kg and Rs 380-385 per kg. 30 count carded yarn is quoted at Rs 335-340 per kg.

Delhi market yarn prices also fell due to low demand. Traders said buyers are waiting for prices to stabilize. As new cotton prices fall, yarn and fabric prices will fall. Only when prices hit bottom will buyers buy in large quantities.

In the Delhi market, 30-count combed yarn is trading at 380-385 rupees per kilogram, 40-count combed yarn is trading at 420-425 rupees per kilogram, and 30-count carded yarn is trading at 380-385 rupees per kilogram. 340-345 rupees per kilogram, and 40-count carded yarn is trading at 375-380 rupees per kilogram.

In Panipat market, the price of recycled yarn has also come down. Recycled yarn prices fell by Rs 3-5 per kg.

In the Banipat market, the trading price of 10-count recycled yarn (white) is 88-93 rupees per kilogram (excluding GST); the trading price of 10-count recycled yarn (colored and high-quality) is 105 per kilogram. -110 rupees, 10 count recycled yarn (colored inferior quality) is trading at 80-85 rupees per kilogram. 30 count recycled yarn is sold at Rs 160-165 per kg (excluding GST).

Cotton prices in northern India are gradually declining due to the arrival of 3,000 bales of new cotton in the region. According to records, most of the new cotton comes from Haryana, and some new cotton also arrives in Punjab. New cotton has not been seen in the Rajasthan region. Trading volumes are currently very limited and forward agreements are common in northern India. The spot trading price of new cotton is 8,900-9,000 rupees per moend (37.2 kg). The delivery price in September is 8200-8400 rupees, and the delivery price in October is 7800-7900 rupees.
