Shidao Town, known as “the first town where the Yangtze River enters Chongqing”, has fertile land, unique natural advantages for planting mulberry trees, and a long history of planting. The town developed the sericulture industry based on the model of “base + enterprise + farmers”, guided the establishment of Chongqing Jinsang Agricultural Development Co., Ltd., and established the first mulberry planting and sericulture demonstration base in Shigao Town. In June 2022, Chongqing Jinsang Agricultural Development Co., Ltd. introduced silk processing equipment, including the entire process of spinning, cooking, rinsing, drying, and quilt making, and hired professional technicians to provide technical guidance and training. The cocoons are independently processed and high-quality silk quilts are successfully produced. A good silk quilt is as white as jade, and the long silk nets are overlapping and intertwined. If you pick up a thread, it will pull thousands of threads. As the saying goes, “a corner can pick up a thousand silk quilts.” In the factory building of Chongqing Jinsang Agricultural Development Co., Ltd., white silk was spread on the table. The two people worked together to pull and spread it… Repeatedly, the silk became fluffy and stretched. After more than an hour of repeated operations, a bed of 1.5 Kilograms of silk quilts are just beginning to take shape. “The price of silk quilts can reach up to 800 yuan per kilogram, and the price of each quilt ranges from 1,600 yuan to 3,000 yuan.” Zhu Daijin said.
Currently, Shidao Town has formed a complete industrial production and operation chain including mulberry planting, silkworm rearing, silk processing, silk quilt making, and sales.
