How to make good use of the traditional sericulture industry and combine Fengming’s characteristics to bring a more vivid study experience to Tongxiang students? Recently, the Fengming Sericulture Research Base in Tongxiang City, Zhejiang Province was officially unveiled. Taking the construction of the research base as an opportunity, Fengming Street carried out in-depth cooperation with the Tongxiang Municipal Education Bureau, and used the Changshanhe Provincial Modern Agriculture Park’s sericulture full industry chain demonstration zone as a carrier to concretely answer this question with practical actions.
According to reports, Fengming Sericulture Farming Research Base covers a total area of 275 acres, and the first phase of the project currently under construction is 40 acres. The research base was formerly a Chongde County farm established in 1952. It was once one of the provincial original silkworm seed production farms and has the best mulberry variety resource nursery in Jiaxing. It has now been named “Agricultural Science and Technology Commissioner Innovation” Station”. Walking into the research and study base, the park is full of mulberry trees, with birds singing and flowers fragrant, and the environmental conditions and features are very distinctive.
Since October last year, Fengming Street has launched a trial run of cooperation with the Tongxiang Youth Base, attracting nearly 5,000 students to experience the charm of sericulture farming culture. “We will also launch innovative courses such as sericulture culture study, enzyme handmade soap making, and plant imprinting, so that children can further experience the cultural journey with Fengming characteristics.” The relevant person in charge of Fengming Street said that the research base was officially unveiled Afterwards, the street has strengthened its confidence in rural revitalization and integrated cultural and tourism development. It will continue to explore local farming cultures such as sericulture and hanging chrysanthemum, build a pastoral green heart, further establish the “Blessed Land Fengming” brand, and make the ecological environment better.
