Why should C6 waterproofing agent be used instead of C8 waterproofing agent? Its main source is fluorine-based waterproof and oil-repellent agents.
The main component of C6 waterproofing agent is PFHS (perfluorohexane sulfonyl compound or sulfonate), which is an ideal product to replace C8 waterproofing agent containing PFOA and PFOS.
However, judging from the products currently used on the market, the waterproofing effect of C6 waterproofing agent is far less than that of C8 waterproofing agent. At the same time, the cost of C6 waterproofing agent is much higher than that of C8 waterproofing agent. How to improve the waterproof and oil-proof performance of C6 waterproofing agent and how to reduce the cost of C6 waterproofing agent production materials are the future directions of C6 waterproofing agent research and development.
