After a lot of exercise, the wearer’s real demand for the product is the three indicators of moisture absorption, quick drying and perspiration, so that the sweat can pass through the “moisture absorption-conduction-diffusion evaporation” process of the fabric and be exported from the body surface to the outside of the clothing, reaching the body surface and clothing. Dry and comfortable.

At present, the main testing and evaluation standards for moisture absorption and quick-drying and perspiration performance are:

⒈ GB/T 21655.1 “Evaluation of moisture absorption and quick-drying properties of textiles – Part 1: One-way combination test method”

⒉ GB/T 21655.2 “Evaluation of moisture absorption and quick-drying properties of textiles – Part 2: Dynamic moisture transfer method”

GB/T 21655.1

In the GB/T 21655.1 method standard, the moisture absorption performance of the fabric is expressed by three indicators: the water absorption percentage of the fabric, the dripping diffusion time and the wicking height. The moisture evaporation rate and moisture permeability of the fabric in the standard atmospheric environment are used to express the product’s speed. Dry performance, specific parameter indicators are shown in Table 1.

GB/T 21655.2

The dynamic moisture transfer method is used in the GB/T 21655.2 method standard to evaluate the moisture absorption, quick-drying and perspiration properties of fabrics. That is, after the immersion surface of the sample is dropped into the test liquid, a sensor in close contact with the sample is used to measure the dynamic transfer of liquid water. A series of performance indicators are thus calculated to evaluate the moisture absorption, quick-drying, perspiration and other properties of textiles. The specific technical requirements for the indicators are shown in Table 2 below.

Comparison of two standards:

Comparing the two different test methods and evaluation indicators of GB/T 21655.1 and GB/T 21655.2, the dynamic moisture transfer method test method is relatively simple and convenient to operate, and its evaluation indicators are also relatively comprehensive and complete. Its performance requirements can be combined for testing, such as moisture absorption and quick drying. Sex, moisture wicking or comprehensive quick drying, but it is not intuitive. In the GB/T 21655.1 quick-drying test, the wicking height and dripping diffusion time can more directly reflect the rapid moisture absorption and diffusion ability of the fabric.. Among the two test methods, the test indicators of hygroscopicity and quick-drying must meet the standard requirements before and after washing (washing procedures and washing times are customized by the brand owner and reflected in the product test report) before it can be called true Moisture-absorbing and quick-drying products.
