Only 6 acres of cotton are planted on the leased land every year, but an output value of 500 million yuan can be created in a year. This mythical story happens in Xinjiang.
The company that rents the land is Shandong Lutai Group. It has been growing cotton on rented land in Alar City for 15 consecutive years. It produces 2.5 tons of cotton per year on 6 acres of land. The company uses this cotton to specifically produce clothing for export to the United States, and produces in limited quantities every year. There are more than 3,000 pieces. In the first year, these clothes were sold in the United States for US$3,000 each, and last year they were sold for 1,500 yuan each.
The reason why such a high output value is created is that firstly, textile and garment enterprises extend the industrial chain to the upstream of production and produce cotton according to the needs of the enterprise; secondly, textile and garment enterprises transform and devote themselves to personalized production.
On August 11, at the second Xinjiang Textile and Garment Industry Development Forum, Yao Mu, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, said that in the future, the textile and garment industry will be guided to develop in the direction of multiple varieties, small batches, and fast delivery. Nowadays, consumers are more pursuing sexualization and like private customization. Some textile companies use Internet+ to allow end consumers to take photos and upload their own body shapes, then measure bust, shoulder width and other data and upload them. They select patterns and styles online, and the company Quick production delivery according to individual needs.
In order to control the quality of cotton, Yao Mu suggested that textile and garment processing companies extend the front-end production chain and produce varieties of their own choice according to individual needs. The cotton grown by Shandong Lutai Group on land rented in Alar is the company’s self-selected variety. It is known as the world’s fine spun yarn and can be dyed. More than 40 different colors are produced, and the cloth produced is very thin and translucent. Yao Mu introduced.
Yang Jinchun, vice president of the China National Garment Association, also agreed with this view. He said that Xinjiang’s textile and garment industry should make good use of the Internet+ to adapt to the new consumption model. In the future, new consumer groups will not necessarily look at brands when wearing clothes, but they will not look at advertisements. But you must show your personality, at least you can’t go out and wear clothes.
