Nowadays, many manufacturers of waterproof fabrics have a question: after waterproofing, the color of the fabric will become darker or yellowing. In response to this phenomenon, we know through a large amount of experimental data (taking fluorine-free LZ-XR88 as an example):

The treatment process is padding-drying-baking (make sure the surface of the fabric is clean before waterproofing, that is, it does not contain impurities, etc.).

On polyester, when the dosage is 10g/l, it is waterproof to level 5. After being washed 10 times, it still has excellent waterproofing effect, which is waterproof level 4; when the dosage is increased to 20g/l, it can withstand 20 times of washing;

On nylon, when the dosage is 15g/l, the initial waterproof level is five, and it can still reach level four after being washed 10 times; when the dosage is increased to 30g/l, it can be washed 20 times.

Whether it is polyester cloth or nylon cloth, when the dosage exceeds 40g/l, it will be easier to produce yellowing. As for why this is the case? We know from relevant information and experimental data: LZ-XR88 is fluorine-free between cationic and non-ionic. There is no need to add acid to adjust the pH in the solution for waterproofing treatment. Polyester, nylon and other chemical fibers, based on their own The amount of charge, if the potential in the solution is not controlled, will affect the color of the dye (especially dark colors), so why is the discoloration or yellowing of dark-colored fabrics more serious when they are waterproofed.

It can be seen from this that when doing waterproofing treatment, the higher the concentration, the better. When the concentration reaches saturation, the effect is counterproductive; therefore, it is particularly important to control the dosage. Technical or product consultation: Ms. Xie.
