According to local cotton processing enterprises and agricultural related personnel, cotton planting in the Bazhou area is concentrated in the regiment fields of the Second Division of the Corps, Korla City, Yuli County, Luntai County and other places. This year, the food supply is maintained While carrying out planting tasks, the cotton area has also remained stable and increased slightly. Since farmers had better cotton profits last year, they are more enthusiastic about planting this year.
A local cotton farmer said that due to the sharp increase in farmers’ planting income last year, agricultural products and land rental fees have increased this year, significantly increasing this year’s planting costs.
In addition, affected by factors such as downstream consumption and cotton company acquisition costs, local cotton companies are generally under greater operating pressure. The person in charge of Company A said that the company’s lint sales rate is 90%. Due to its large size, the company suffers large losses. The person in charge of Company B told reporters that last year, about 4,700 tons of lint were purchased and sold by the group. The current overall sales rate is less than 40%. Another C company said that it purchased about 34,000 tons of lint cotton through cooperation and self-operation last year, and the current sales rate is around 60%. Due to the recent decline in Zheng cotton prices, sales have basically stagnated.
