Recently, the Anqing Cotton District of Anhui Province has maintained fine weather, with the highest daytime temperature at 28-30°C. At present, cotton boll spun out is accelerating, but seed cotton acquisition progress is relatively slow.
From July to the present, the Anqing cotton area has continued to have fine weather and no effective rainfall, so cotton bolls have sped up. According to feedback from field surveys conducted by informants in cotton fields, 80% of the cotton bolls in most early-transplanted cotton fields have spun out, and the cotton bolls in many fields have reached the top; some fields of machine-sown cotton from major cotton growers will also be harvested by machines soon. Cotton stalks are expected to be pulled out one month earlier than in previous years.
Cotton bolls spun out quickly, and cotton farmers picked more seed cotton. However, the amount of seed cotton purchased by local ginners was not large. For example, in the main production area of Wangjiang County, large and small cotton ginning factories harvest more than 300,000 jins, while others only receive tens of thousands of jins. The reason for the slow progress of acquisitions is that on the one hand, cotton farmers are reluctant to sell; on the other hand, ginners are cautious and dare not raise prices to rush for harvests, so as to prevent the purchase price of seed cotton from last year from being low to high and ultimately resulting in losses. </p
