On the 23rd, 3.494 million acres of cotton were mined in Shihezi Reclamation Area, one of the main cotton producing areas of the Xinjiang Corps. At present, cotton harvesting is in full swing at various farms in the reclamation area.
Xinjiang Corps is an important commercial cotton production base in my country. At present, in the vast fields of Xinjiang, cotton is spun out in large areas, and mechanized harvesting has begun.
In recent years, during the cotton picking season in Xinjiang, cotton picking machines gallop back and forth through the silver-white sea of cotton, creating a spectacular scene.
On that day, in Zhang Xinghua’s cotton field of the 19th Company of the 142nd Regiment, a large cotton picker was working in the cotton field. “Our group’s output this year is higher than last year. It is estimated that the yield per mu is more than 500 kilograms.” Zhang Xinghua said.
According to reports, 863 cotton picking machines in Shihezi City of the Eighth Division of the Xinjiang Corps are being put into use one after another to meet the cotton picking needs of various regiments. It is estimated that the total seed cotton output this year will be 1.63 million tons, with an average yield of 466 kilograms per mu.
Recently, while doing a good job in epidemic prevention and control, Shihezi City of the Eighth Division has promoted agricultural construction in a safe and orderly manner to ensure a bumper harvest and increased production for workers in the Shihezi Reclamation Area.
In late September every year, mechanized harvesting of more than 10,000 acres of cotton planted by the Xinjiang Corps begins one after another, and will be completed by the end of October. Due to large-scale mechanized harvesting, manual picking of cotton is a thing of the past. </p
