In recent years, Shaoxing has insisted on “emptying the cage to change the bird, and the phoenix is reborn”, implementing the orderly cross-regional agglomeration and upgrading of printing and dyeing enterprises in Yuecheng District to Keqiao District, pioneering the “cross-regional integration” of the industry, and building a traditional industry Transform and upgrade the “Shaoxing Model”. In August this year, the five major printing and dyeing groups composed of more than 30 printing and dyeing companies were all put into operation, and the “cross-domain integration” work of the urban printing and dyeing industry was successfully completed.
Nowadays, in the workshops of the five major printing and dyeing groups, internationally advanced equipment such as Japanese Toshin printing machines and Italian pine dryers can be seen everywhere. Full-process, fully-automatic production lines are quite common. A set of statistical data shows that after the five major printing and dyeing groups were put into full production, production efficiency increased by an average of 25%, costs and energy consumption were reduced by 20%, and the average benefit per mu tripled. “It is expected that the new output value of the printing and dyeing industry will exceed 10 billion yuan in 2022.” The relevant person in charge of the Shaoxing Economic and Information Bureau said that the benefits have improved significantly after the agglomeration, and the printing and dyeing industry has been continuously promoted to a high-quality industrial cluster.
Zhejiang Hongda Printing and Dyeing Group is the largest printing and dyeing group in Shaoxing, integrating 14 printing and dyeing companies in Yuecheng District. “In the long run, life for small printing and dyeing enterprises will become increasingly difficult, and group-based large-scale development is the general trend.” Xu Jiangfeng, general manager of Nanchi Printing and Dyeing, said that when enterprises operated alone, they generally had small production capacity and low per-acre benefits. After the group was formed, it not only had a full range of products, but also had the largest production capacity in the province. “As soon as customers enter our company, they don’t have to leave because we can produce any product.” Lin Maliang, general manager of Hongda Printing and Dyeing Group, said frankly that such strong market competitiveness was unthinkable before the gathering.
Currently, Keqiao District is working hard to build a 100-billion-level modern textile industry cluster. According to estimates, after the five major printing and dyeing groups are fully put into operation, Keqiao’s printing and dyeing production capacity will account for 60% of the province’s total and 40% of the country’s. The five major printing and dyeing groups have also strengthened the gaps in Keqiao’s natural fiber printing and dyeing, special product printing and dyeing and other textile industry chains, and injected new momentum into the brain construction of Keqiao’s printing and dyeing industry. In addition, in terms of promoting the overall improvement of printing and dyeing enterprises, Keqiao uses “industrial brain + future factory” as the core application scenario to guide printing and dyeing enterprises to accelerate digital transformation. From January to July this year, the textile industry in Keqiao District achieved an output value of 71.8 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13.2%.
The cross-regional agglomeration of printing and dyeing has improved, and it has also created new space for urban development. According to statistics, after the cross-domain integration of Shaoxing’s two major industries, printing and dyeing and chemical industry, more than 10,000 acres of land have been vacated, with a net saving of more than 3,600 acres of land. Keqiao Economic and Technological Development Zone has built sewage, sludge treatment and other supporting projects to realize centralized heating, gas supply and sewage discharge in the printing and dyeing industry, saving nearly 20,000 tons of standard coal every year. At the same time, the “Shaoxin Valley” project construction has been launched in the vacated area. In the future, it will focus on the development of “pan-semiconductor +” industries such as integrated circuits and semiconductor photovoltaics, and strive to create a national practice model of “vacating the cage for a bird, and the phoenix’s nirvana”.
